Voted best fashion show, and launched for the first time by Fely Tchaco in the city of San Francisco on August 3, 2013, at the Museum of the African Diaspora, "MODEFA" (Modern Ethnic Fashion Show Gala and Mixer) is an exciting melange of ethnically inspired haute couture fashion show, featuring fashion designers from around the world to celebrate the world's diverse cultures.

MODEFA is a unique event that blends cutting-edge global fashion, with live music, wild comedy, art showcase, and amazing culinary creations, by a carefully selected local and multi-national celebrity on-site chef.

 

OUR MISSION

The mission is simple and bold. To allow designers to create a haute couture and ready-to-wear fashion designs, based upon ideas taken from ancient traditional clothing wear and textiles, to make a garment that fits our modern lifestyle.

The show is also part of an annual charity benefit fundraising for African Arts Academy, a 501C3 non-profit organization, dedicated in the doctrines of arts and crafts, originating in Africa and the African Diaspora.
